Fair point, but I wouldn't class it as CUV or SUV--this is a 490hp EV that Audi claims can get 300+ miles from a single charge. It's a mainstream EV that seats more than the driver and his cat. It's competition for Tesla (and competition is always good).

Plus, I do like the style (although I'd much rather prefer a straight wagon, but people like height)

Right, but luxury to me is not having to compromise, and all crossover/tall wagon type vehicles are compromises.

Not that I'm against compromises, my next vehicle in a few years will very likely be some sort of crossover. I'm not that wealthy and can't afford to have multiple vehicles.

But if you're the type that's able to afford this thing... Why not get multiple vehicles that can do all of the specific things you want well?

one of my favourite cars ever. buick gnx

Hugely underated junior muscle car. Love it.

Looking at buying a car,(around 5000-9000 euros....4,0000-7,0000 pounds)....

Was thing something similar in size to a Ford focus...

Any recommendations...or any cars that should be avoided?...

Thanks

I am hugely biased as I'm a massive VW fan, I'd have a look for a mk4 VW Golf. Service history is an absolute must.

Avoid the 1.6 petrol as it has a gear box made of chocolate .

Also the Tdi models can have a very expensive problem with their clutch ( duel mass fly wheel ). This is evident by an abnormal vibrating feeling when the car is idling.

For that money you should get a get very good car mate.

Nice one, cheers mate

Anyone lease their car? Looking at upgrading my 12 year old Clio early next year and like the look of them Mercedes A class, or a Seat Leon FR.
After people's views or experiences, like any problems when you give the car back etc? Don't fancy being hit with a huge bill in 3 years for basic wear and tear.
Only do 3-4000 miles a year as I've got a work van as well so mileage charges won't be an issue.

@jal123 - I've leased plenty of cars over the years mate. The return conditions of the major companies are generally both fair and realistic. The best ones will give you a detailed breakdown (with pictures) of what is considered fair wear and tear on the car, so you can make a judgement call before they collect at the end of the lease, as to what (if anything) needs sorting.

Small scratches under 10cm in length are usually fine as long as they've not dented or gouged the metal. Small marks on alloys etc are fine but a severely damaged one would cost you. It's basically common sense.
