Cheers mate!

All seems fair enough.

Have no idea how it drives, but the new Challenger has a very nice look; these with the Shaker hood scoop

This is a long shot, but can anyone recommend a good MOT centre in North or East London?

I can envisage some cockney wide boi fleecing me because I'm not from round here. I just need it road worthy as I'll be selling it very soon.

Best advice I can offer as I don't know how familiar you are with motors......

If it's only up for MOT then just get done what the advisory/failure says - if you even get one, might sail through. But first of all, before you put it in, go to a different garage (Preferably one that doesn't do MOT) to get a service (Get a receipt as service history) & ask the mechanic to keep an eye out for anything that needs attention while he's there. Ask him if it'll directly affect your MOT. Here's a wee rough guide to what's required, and it'll arm against if the mechanic's tryin' to blag you. You can do a load of these things yourself.

Hope it helps. ;)

Cheers mate. I'll take a look at that and see what I can do myself over the weekend.

It's a 10 year old car which I'll probably get no more than £1,500 for, so I'm reluctant to do a service to be honest. It's also due a timing belt change soon, but that together with the service would cost about £500, and I doubt very much by not doing those things it's going to reduce the value by £500, if you get what I mean.

Can't wait until my company car arrives so I only have to worry about putting fuel in the thing!

I knew it was expensive in londinium, but burger me!! A service should pay for itself in all honesty - it should help you get shut a bit quicker at any rate! Just lie about the timing belt, if you're asked say it has a while to go (in your opinion of course) add an extra 10k mile to what you think it has left! :yellow:

With the car being that old my guess for the MOT is the brake pads/shoes & brake pipes might need lookin' at if you haven't had them (esp. pads & shoes) replaced in the last few years. Check your CV joints & boots too.
