Hm, oddly enough I'm supposedly very cultured behind the wheel, past my first month of having a license...

I just got the "WOOOOOO LICENSE WOOOOOOOO" hype out of the way pretty early on I guess lol

Bahahah. The first 2 or 3 years of my driving career were pretty rowdy. I'm thankful I had a slow car to keep me out of too much trouble.

Now I still have slow-but-slightly-faster whip and I'm much calmer behind the wheel. :P

Haha, well I had an alright one and I did the occasional stupid thing, but no unnecessary risks, you know?

Wouldn't rule out a Panamera either, @the esk ...but you have to like the look, which many don't. Deceptive car, though.

2016's have made a lot of strides with the look, though...

Much prefer the previous shape....always wanted a Jensen Interceptor as a kid and this was nearest to it

My first car topped out at 114 mph. No governor because that's when you redline the highest gear. ('98 Stratus, I think a few of them made it over to Europe. They were alright cars for their time, but didn't age well.)

My second had a governor on it, so you couldn't go over 105 mph. ('04 Alero. Some of these also made across the pond. They're crap though.)

I had a couple year break of no car later in uni.

I don't know the top speed of my current car. Which is probably a good thing. :p ('06 Nissan Altima. No European equivalent. Not super powerful, but it has an extra 50hp on my first car and about 40hp on my second.)

I had an old audi B4... was boss.

The car itself isn't actually very expensive, they're around $65k USD, so I don't think it'd really be end up any more expensive than some of the other options being considered.

Seen one for sale over here for £61k. About the same prices as the tyres on anything with similar performance.

Crazy car the Tesla. Not driven one but the stats are ridiculous for a car of its ilk.

Yep, I was a passenger last year and it was a beautiful ride. I rang the hotel and asked could I use it for a few hours expecting them to say no. Anyway they rang back and said I can have it for the two might stay :)

Anyone got any experience of leasing cars?

I've been looking at cars such as A3, Golf, Focus, Leon etc... on a 2 year lease at about £200 - £250pcm with around £1,500 up front, and 15,000 miles a year (to be on the safe side). One thing that is putting me off the idea though is the inevitable (although minor) damage the car will accumulate over the period. For example, minor dents due to dozy idiots in car parks and scuffed alloys is what I'm thinking of.

I had a car on hire from Enterprise recently and their policy was that if the dent was smaller than a golf ball size, or the scratch was smaller than a certain size, then they didn't class it as damage and you wouldn't be charged for it. Scuffed alloy wheels didn't count as damage either. Just wondering what a typical lease company's stance would be on this kind of thing?
