There's something about the 'Merican roads though, has to be said...

Yeah, that so many of them are dodgy...condition-wise anyhow. lol

It's hard to maintain a lot of them though, just because of the sheer distance they cover...the one above, for instance, is basically in the middle of feckin' nowhere (Monument Valley). There's no shortage of long straight runs of tarmac in the Western U.S. @Dylan and others can attest to that. That's great for Mustangs and Camaro's etc. but it can be a bit boring in other cars, like mine.

Well the roads here, bar some main ones, are usually fantastically crap, so I'm used to that lol

Just been driving a 3.0 litre TDI Passat estate in France for the last few days.

Probably about 10 years since I last drove a VW. There's been serious improvements, great build quality and it's now an excellent mid range car. Certainly gives Audi/BMW/Merc a good run for their monies

I think you'll find that if it's a new Passat its in fact a 2.0 litre mate. As they don't fit the 3.0 V6 TDi in the Passat.

I topped out my WRX in the boundaries of the Grand Canyon National park......pegged the speedo well past the listed 140. The cheap handheld gps had us at 157mph.

Because I know you like your 'Stangs, @Groucho ...

The new Mustang is coming to the UK, in RHD, but V6 only.

If I had the deposit money (and provided it comes with cruise control, I'm not dropping a spec level) I'd put my name down right now.

If only they'd bring the Thunderbird back. And sell it here. At a price I could afford.

Even more impressive then! Could have sworn the Avis guy said 3 litre but I will bow to your superior knowledge!

One of my cars is an audi 2.7 diesel, the VW was more responsive than the Audi is.

Very economical as well. I did 750 km on 2/3rds of a tank.

They aren't bringing the V6 to the UK. They will be selling the 2.3 Ecoboost and the 5.0 V8 in RHD too and at a very competitive price compared to the dullorama Beemers with similar performance. Seems 70+% of orders placed are for the V8. If you want a Yank, you have to go the whole hog. I love my old one even though it is slow and rubbish. The noise beats any tune by any artist you care to name.
