Personally, I have almost always bought ex-demonstrators rather than a newly registered car.

Usually significant savings on list price and the car is usually highly spec'ed

People walk into dealerships and think they can name their price because there's thousands of £'s in margin for the retailer.

The reality is that most price them to sell and there's little room for negotiation, you'll get a couple of hundred but ask for a mssive chip and stand firm and they'll let you walk.

Yes but there are a lot of resources now open to the public that weren't in the old days so you have a pretty good idea of what the dealer should be asking. Ally that to the ease of finding similar vehicles across the country, and a bit of research goes a long way.

There is always another deal elsewhere but I was mighty p*ssed off with Audi dealers attitude

Kinda defeats the purpose of having a sports car if its electric

Nah. We may be at a fork in the path of technology, but no loss for having electric cars. While initial acceleration in the Tesla is remarkable, nothing else it does compares to the Ferrari. When you see a bird's head turned by how superbly quiet the electric car is, report back here.

You misread, i agree, electric will never come close to something like a ferrari or lambo.

Not wholly true.....go in on the last two days of the quarter and if the dealership is chasing the last few car sales to hit a bonus it's like stealing sweets from a baby. Done it with three cars in the last year and a half and walked away with significant savings.

Dealerships rely on average punters going in and paying the price shown on the ticket.....those punters pay for the sparkly glass show rooms and fancy coffee.....I read somewhere that over 70% of car buyers do so without trying to get a better deal. Be strategic in timing and always be prepared to walk away.

Soon sort that out with a stez blasting out a recording of concorde taking off, afterburners beat 12 cylinders any day.

Makes no difference.....I saved nearly £11,000 on my current car bought 7 months old....all because the dealer needed a few sales to hit tasty bonus targets
Dealers don't get large volume bonuses on used cars and if you got £11k off the window price I'll eat my own face

Get your condiments and knife and fork out them mate.....it was a top of the range demonstrator with everything on and that's what I got off the price. Take it or leave it but that's what I got deal-wise. Deal done on last day of June 2014, so half year or end of second quarter sales. Lost a few bob on a lease I cut short to buy this car but nowhere near the £11K saved on the car
