Looks like I've been done right royally by some dodgy tw@ in Bury.

bought car for £2k, oil cooler broke so it has gone back for him to repair. He's had the car for 3 days, it aint fixed and nobody will give me any answers as to wtf is going on, in facty now I cant even get them to pick up the phone.

He has my car and my 2k, I can say that I want a refund but it would have to go to small claims prob. which means I have neither the auto or the cash while he drags it out, and then even if the court rule in my favour they cant make him pay up.

Driving (no pun intended) me up the feckin wall this.

I have consumer rights but tbh they are worth feck all, as I really cant afford to be without either the car or the cash.

Wonder if I could get Dom ?

Really feel your pain here mate.

When I got my current car loads went wrong and had to keep taking it back and being carless and skint. When I even mentioned getting a refund they went all tw@tish. Luckily the motors been great recently (touch wood) so havnt had to take it further.

Did you get any warranty mate?

I've learned that I'll probably never buy 2nd hand again.

Just had my car serviced and MOT'd at the dealer I bought it from ( Evans Halshaw ). The MOT failed on a couple of things, mostly due to wear and tear with the car being 9 yrs old ( I've had it for three ) . I know it costs more to get the work done, but at least I know it's guaranteed , and it gets done properly. Must have spent almost a grand on replacements and repairs this past two years . Bloody cars ffs !!!!

My stomach is churning like it's gonna drop a load of Evercrete.

Can't fig. if it's the feeling of anger/ been ripped off, or PMT.*

*Pre-Match Tension.

Think I might have the Collywobbles

Weird was going to bump this.

I am looking at getting a new car. I have a BMW 3 series saloon- 2003 plate that cost me almost £500 to get through its last MOT. The cost of fuel, Tax and insurance make it quite expensive to run.

Looked at a newer Ford Focus today, 2008 plate, fairly low mileage, low Tax, low insurance and very economical. Trouble is its white.

Now I like white cars but I know Im in for a ribbing if I get it....

Hmm decisions, decisions...

Ouch, hope you get it sorted Reidster

I bought a second hand MINI 5 years ago. It was fine for the first year, then EVERYTHING went wrong with it

I had to pay about £250 on average a month fixing it for about a year it worked out as I guess. I honestly did cry at one stage. I spent £3000 repairing it, about £2000 paying for it, plus the things you can't avoid like £250 a month on petrol, tax, insurance etc. I just couldn't see it ending, I was sure the garage I was taking it too was ripping me off or somehow making it break

Cars hey....

....and I wonder how I got into loads of debt.

Someone crashed into me this week. Stupid cow straight onto a roundabout into me

Same - I have a 318 2005, and pretty sure the gear box is on its way out. Thinking of trading it in before it packs up. But cash is an issue and I don't know what I want. I've got an Alfa GTV in the garage that I've been tinkering with, but it's a V6 and can't afford the juice. I love cars, but the cost to run/maintain is getting silly now

I've filled up with LPG 3 times this week, £120. If I was to use it to get to Wembley, then another ton. It has risen in price by 120% since I got the car.

If the car that is stuffed had been there then I'd have only put 40 in lpg and an extra £20 in the fiesta, it wouldve got to Wembley and back for £40.

Get the Focus but have it wrapped in that vinyl stuff so you can have it any colour you want.

Even a shiny mirror effect (y)

Could you go and see him and see what's going on? Have you found out how much it'd cost to get the oil cooler fixed yourself? If it's not too expensive it might be worth sorting it yourself rather than waiting for him to sort his sh1t out
