Im not sure this one makes sense, if we are going to free up a loan slot to use, does this obviously improve the position? I think we all agree bringing in a RW, full back, or #10 would instantly improve those positions, but with Garner and Tim coming back(with Gana and Mangala already there), is it a waste of a loan? Personally Id rather use that loan on a winger or fullback.

Loan is pointless unless it contains an option to buy, option to buy is pointless if Chelsea are asking for double what they paid villa for him 40m on top of a loan fee this season.

Lads played less than 1,000 minutes total of league football, Chelsea reckons less than 600 minutes across 35 games turns a 20m player into one worth 40m.

Nah he's talented but sorry 40m is the type of fee you pay for a top player or a generational prospect

If f they agreed to a few the same as they paid villa then yeah he's worth that, but right now he's arguably less a prospect than when Villa sold him as he's already had three seasons of stunted development by not playing much.

I wonder if there is a world where a loan with an option at around close to what they paid.

For Chelsea, it kicks it into next year, so they get a PSR profit. We get to a view the player before buying.

But yea, he's not exactly shown a lot.

Yeah around that would fit me better an ok deal, can sweeten it with a good sell on percentage Ur stupid high buy back clause too. 20%, 50m say, at least that way we'd ensure still a very large profit and it would just feel like a developing another clubs player loan.

I can't see a world where Moyes is going to pay 40m for him. On fairness Thelwell wouldn't either.

I wonder if it's being driven by Chelsea.

You see a lot of talented teenagers, but being a PL 22/23 year old is a different question.

I also wonder if it's part of an agreement re Broja too. Like we will give you your money for Broja, but we want this lad on loan?

He's a really talented lad like, but valuating him as the same as they paid for Cole Palmer is a joke, similarly when you have reports Mcatee would cost around 20-25m for a player whose actually played two seasons as a starter on loan in the champ and prem for Sheffield United and has European starts for city under his belt, yeah I thought the valuation they'd stuck on Broja was a joke, but this is worse - well similar tbh.
