RIght here pal. I give him credit for not picking Sigurdsson and James in the same eleven. Took him just over 6 months to see the plain evident. I give him credit for leading us for the historic win at Anfield.

But do I believe in his unsustainable negative brand of football? No. It really does make him look like a genius cos his over conservative approach pulled off against the RS. They're better suited for away games at RS or Man City.

But I cannot absolve him for the atrocious game plans and negative tactics of 30% possession from 1960s which made us look Championship material in past 4 games at home. Those games made him look clueless and genuinely make me worry as more times you bottles simpler games with such negative tactics.

Every team is struggling at home because most away teams are just sitting in. I think now we have DCL back and Richarlison has had some sort of return to form and the weather is picking up for James we might start to be more free scoring. In my opinion the best 2 players in our 85 team were Southall and Reid a goalkeeper and a defensive midfielder which shows how important keeping them out is. If we add a goalscoring midfielder in the summer we become much more of a threat. Ancelotti can only work with the tools at his disposal.

And yet they went over thirty years without a title?

This summer will be huge for Liverpool as it is a real test for their owners, Liverpool have had enormous success (unfortunately ) in the last few seasons and yet they generally have to sell before buying any player of consequence.

Their season had not imploded at the beginning of January and investment in players may have saved their season but it didn't happen.
I cannot help but feel that FSG are the scouse version of Kroenke except they got lucky with the magerial appointment. Part of their problem is a small squad which can't cope with injury.

If the God's would smile on us and they finish out of the top four they may have real problems
Wuold be fantastic and, very likely

We’ve played full strength very good Liverpool teams at Anfield, played well, but gone away with a draw or loss and received zero credit, just the media laughing at how we didn’t win again. They’ve come to Goodison and played teams we’ve put out that have been injury ravaged, down to ten men, shafted by horrifying refereeing, yet no one cares afterwards, just more mocking if we’ve lost, or belittling if we drew.

Now all of a sudden when we win it has to come with a load of caveats? No it doesn’t. The conditions of every derby are different and if we’ve received criticism in the past regardless of the circumstances then they deserve it now. Not arsed about their injuries, we had to play Matthew Pennington at Anfield once and no one said anything after that game. The wind and lack of fans was the same for both teams.
Put VD in that team it’s there 1st choice 11

Good manager,
now just needs to work out how beat teams in the bottom half who we have to breakdown.
But after the weekend anything is possible.

@matty1878 throw away the key this time.

How can you go from writing paragraphs on why you think carlo is failing and not the man. Then flip on one game. I know it was that game. But it was a one of game. I said it already if we had of beat Fulham everyone be talking up champions league. And alas they are talking about it again.

This serial cup winner Carlos first season and he already one a cup in my eyes.

Whats next?

well summer we get MORE of his own players in as we’ve shifted wages etc and we can continue to build the dons fortress ;)

Whatever he got them doing at the start of the season (albeit against Brighton and WBA), he just needs to get flowing again for run in for the final home games.

If the players start believing and attacking games against the Burnley's we'll go far.

He's brought in James, Doucoure, Godfrey and Allan (who's barely played in the last two months) and turned the team around. Miracle worker (not without flaws), but christ, how lucky are we?

The next game is at home to Southampton, the exact kind of match we’ve struggle in recently.
We should have all of our players back and fit so there is no excuse at all to not win this one.
I’m still buzzing from Saturday and I’m sure the whole squad is too but if we can’t follow up that huge win with a routine win then we will struggle getting into Europe next season and getting into Europe could be the difference to how heavily Carlo can strengthen the squad for next year

People really need to have patience and trust in Carlo. The reaction in here after the past couple of home games was a joke. Yes, they were poor results but it's a work in progress. Let him bring in more of his own players over the next 2-3 windows and then see where we are.

The mans a winner and has seen and done it all. He's the perfect man to lead us into the new stadium and the next chapter in our history.

I love the man and don’t think we could get any better. For me my gripe has been, and still is we don’t seem to have learned anything or at least try to change the way we play at home to lesser teams we should be beating. I just said in the Saints game thread that we will see how we set up for that game to see if we have finally learned our lessons and will change our approach and set up. They also play with a fast paced high pressing game. I don’t expect us to dominate on the ball or control the game as we don’t really have the midfield to do so, but I expect us to at least be able to use our attacking outlets upfront by being a bit more direct and getting in behind their back line as opposed to all standing around waiting for short balls and very little movement.

I may be wrong here but the teams in the bottom half, our problem isn't breaking them down, it's stopping them from completely overrunning us. Fulham did it twice, Newcastle did it twice, Southampton once, Leeds etc

We cant go into next season with the danger of having a midfield with no width or pace. Some of our midfield line ups at home deflate you straight away. Four central midfielders.
Iwobi is a waste of space as an option. Bernard hasnt got 90 minutes in him.
So its into the transfer market we go.
Two midfielders and a keeper. The non twitchy pickford of saturday would erase that problem. But he needs more than that game to show he's worth going into another season with him.

I don’t agree with all your complaining in here about Carlo, but you are right in this. I don’t think we have had a single game where we were pushing and trying to break down a packed defense. Maybe Sheffield Utd?

I think what’s happened is the teams you’d expect to sit back against us have looked at our midfield options and said why!? They’ve gone at us and we haven’t reacted

Despite a few bumps in the road such as both newcastle games and the Fulham game things are looking amazing! I know some people hate the negative approach Carlo wants us to play under but I see that as him trying to make the most of the limited tools he has available. Not having Allan has made it a bit harder to win the ball back further up the field for a start.
But all in all everything looks positive and we go into most games with a plan and an idea. Like the fact that mane and Salah were completely nullified by our defence on Saturday shows that our players are going into a game with clear objectives and a plan to win the game. What a fantastic turn around compared to Silva where every game their seemed to be no clear plan or objective.
Its still only Carlos first full season with us and the turn around has been dramatic with still mostly the same group of players. Can't wait to see what happens next season when we get a few more players in that Carlo wants. All the nay sayers need to realise we aren't going to become perfect over night. I think these harsh losses to so called easier teams are good wake up calls for this squad, bouncing back from two defeats at home to beat our main rivals shows the change in our mentality.
Carlo forever and shame on those who decry the negative tactics or Carlo. He isn't untouchable but so far we are 100% seeing signs of improvement and if that isn't good enough for some people then sadly nothing ever will
