Is probably true, and I accept that has been my stand point in previous periods of utterly dross togger ball. Carlo gets a pass from me because he has done it all, won it all, managed the top calibre of player. Two of the managers you listed got relegated. One of them was a survival specialist up until this season. Different kettle of fish. At some point we have to put faith in a manager to build a squad capable of winning. CA was the one for me. At some point you also have to accept that the players just arent good enough. So do you want to have a manager of the pedigree you listed or CA in charge of the rebuild?

But the thing is we did put our faith in him,

And would have continued to do so.

I was less than impressed by what we had seen thus far, but I would never have wanted rid of him.

He has gone of his own volition ..... he wasn’t sacked by the club or forced out by the fans.

No point us moping over it.

And the best way I can get over it is by trusting my own eyes and saying that, although he has been a great manager in the past, he wasn’t very good when he was here.

And that I for one won’t look back on the Carlo era with any great affection :(

??????

It's definitely not that. You've got just enough mercenaries to avoid relegation year in, year out, with none of the pressure of ever being in danger of winning anything. It's the easiest job in the world.
Yes but the owner want champions league and beyond, who could get us near that?

This really doesn't make any sense. He was never getting sacked here, he had 3 more years here just like his contract there. Obviously it's "REAL" but it seems very out of character for him..
He is a football manager. They are trained to be ruthless.

Can just hear carlo saying: Errr i would like to say thank you to the club, the great supporters of the club and thank you again its a great club but not say whys he's leaving.
I hope the press ask him about how he was in it for long run and why he's leaving us in the sh*t

I’m not as disappointed as I thought might be. I didn’t want him to leave, but I’m not too sad he has gone.

I couldn’t stand another season of football like that last one. It just didn’t float my boat.

I think we need a manager with a more modern approach, and one willing to bring younger players through.

Half the team needs binning off. The football won’t change next season because Carlo is gone I 100% guarantee you that. We were playing the exact same way prior to Carlos appointment - but for two ‘let’s be it up for it’ games under Ferguson and then as we seen against Arsenal they soon reverted back. Team isn’t good enough and gutless.

Very well put.

I honestly couldn't see it more differently.

Everton is a mess of a club, we've got no sense of direction in the playing squad, and we're currently half a starting eleven away from really competing for the top 5 or 6 places.

Add to that the fact that his house was burgled in the short time he was living here and the fact that Real Madrid are one of the biggest clubs in world football who are pretty much guaranteed CL football and I see it as a total no brainer tbh.
