We play counter attacking football because we have a midfield with no pace and unable to beat a man.

If we play counter-football, then it is not very effective. We have not registered a goal after counterattacks this season.

Loads of teams have their best totals in ages this season because of how it has been. Big clubs suffering with massive fixture congestion etc, lack of fans.

No matter what way either of us spin it into a positive or negative I think we can agree that we have a half of a decent 11 and no depth.

Aside from Kean only 5 players with a resale value over £30mil in Pickford, Digne, Godfrey, Richarlison and DCL.

When you look at that then it seems clear as day to me that we need to sign young players who can be seen as assets.

As a squad we have 5 decent assets out of 23(?).

In any barometer thats substandard recruitment which needs to change so the manager can improve the team.

Carlo is obviously one of the most successful managers ever but performances, lack of identity , tactics and occasional bizarre selections and substitutions force me to consider if he still has the hunger and desire to build a successful team at Goodison.
In all honesty I don't know.

Cant keep blaming the players - would you go to work putting in maximum effort if every manager you worked under was throwing you under the bus / not adequately training you? I know I wouldn't.

Most of these players have only been around since Brands/Silva only about 4 were here when Koeman was around its a complete myth that they have seen off tons of managers.

If he keeps blaming the players they'll see him off.

Maybe the manager wouldn’t need to be calling them out if they actually bothered to put the effort in

Where has the fight been that got us a point at Old Trafford after being 2-0 and 3-2 down? The performance that saw us win at Anfield for the first time in 22 years? That produced deserved wins over Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs?

Carlo is nothing without a team of superstars who can manage themselves. The past is over and so is his time as a real manager.

The reason why the Leeds players seem so good is that they have a well-drilled system, and everyone knows exactly what to do. We are typically the club that buys these players, often overpriced, and eventually finds out that these players are not really that good.

It is very strange to say that Leeds have a better squad than us, and think you will have difficulty finding anyone outside the Ancelotti cult who thinks the same.

A well drilled squad of capable players over a season get better results than a squad of 6 decent players like ours.

I think it's dismissive to say "cos they work harder" too. Everyone in the league works harder than we do

The season has been an improvement. Big away wins, back in the top 10. Carlo has provided a platform to build on next season.
