He was superb there Toff.
Genuinely believes we've got a top drawer manager
Said when Doucoure, Allan, Rodriguez are playing together that's the rolls Royce engine
When we get injuries and are playing a centre back (Holgate) as a midfielder, that isn't acceptable and that's where we need to have a squad where we swap like for like not where we have to put players in positions they weren't bought for.
I agree with him mate, I think most of us do. It's a sensible thing to say. We've all on here pointed at the recuritment too.
Issue for me is there's this kind of attitude - or there has been - that it's all okay, that it'll get sorted. Unfortunately I've seen limited evidence of that. The man who has been in charge for the last three years is still here and needs to buck his ideas up sharpish if he's going to be here longer because we can't afford to waste more time.
My issue with Carlo is there's no actual idea or plan it seems at times. I don't lay that particular fault at his door today, but over the trend of the season that's one of the big reasons why we've dropped points.
I also will suggest that while our recruitment hasn't been amazing, there should be no reason why our players can't pass a ball like Brighton's players can pass a ball, or can't run with the ball like how Leeds' players run with the ball. These are basic things, and I've seen no evidence of that over the last 17 months. Indeed, we cannot press at all, our players don't know how to press, yet under Silva that was actually an effective part of our game (or it was until we sold Gana).
There's a myriad of issues and Kev is spot on. But, and I said this back in November, I doubted we'd see that team that started the season together more than 5 times following that initial derby when Coleman got injured and Rich got suspended. Well, six months later, we've still not seen it, and I doubt we will before the season is out.
