I'd guess that Napoli would still have to be paying him under his contract with them, or have given him a lump sum in compensation. If he gets another job in only a week from being sacked, they would reasonably think his compo should be negotiated down considerably. Only surmising, obviously.

he has not been sacked .
HE has been relieved of his duties as head coach.
