68-70pts for 4th.
32 games left
62pts to get
20 wins 2 draws
Thought id give this an update after a further 3 games
Game 1: Leicester/Norwich (H) 2-2 Last Season: 2-2. Points Difference 0
Game 2: Arsenal (H) 2-2 Last Season: 3-0. Points Difference -2
Game 3: Chelsea (H) 3-6 Last Season: 1-0. Points Difference -5
Game 4: WBA (A) 2-0 Last Season :1-1. Points Difference -3
Game 5: Palace (H) 2-3 Last Season 2-3. Points Difference -3
Game 6: Liverpool (A) 1-1 Last Season 0-4. Points Difference -2
Game 7: Man Utd (A) 1-2 Last Season 1-0 Points Difference -5
Game 8: Villa (H) 3-0 Last Season 2-1 Points Difference -5
Game 9: Burnley/Fulham (A) Last Season 3-1 Points Difference -5
So due to the Man Utd defeat we are 5 points behind what we got last season off the same fixtures with our next 6 fixtures as follows
Game 10: Swansea (H) Last Season 3-2 Points 3
Game 11: Sunderland (A) Last Season 1-0 Points 3
Game 12: West Ham (H) Last Season 1-0 Points 3
Game 13: Spurs (A) Last Season 0-1 Points 0
Game 14: Hull (H) Last Season 2-1 Points 3
Game 15: Man City (A) Last Season 1-3 Points 0
Now I think 9 points from the next 3 will be very very difficult considering Swansea & West Hams form this season and for some reason I am never confident going away to Sunderland, if we do manage that though it would be fantastic but we will still be 5 points behind from last season, which makes the Spurs away & City away a good opportunity to catch up. If we could get 2/3/4 points out of them 2 away games and maybe 10 points from the other 4 that would put us on -2/-3/-4 points on last season, and with plenty of teams at the moment also not looking like it will be as high a points total of as last year by the time Man City away comes id like to think we would be sitting top 6.
What does everyone think?
Yeah I agree mate, I think it will take less points this year but just find it interesting how it pans out from year to year.Only messing. We're only 4 points off top 4, nobody has a clue how this season will pan out and a lot of these results will have no correlation with the corresponding fixtures from last year. Personally, I think less points will be needed for top 4 but we'll miss out because of the Europa and lack of squad depth.
I heard last week that last season Southampton had 1 more point and had conceded 2 less goals after this amount of games last season.
I know everyone says it but we really should be a lot better off points wise this season. Only the derby game is the one game we were maybe fortunate to get something out of (thankfully that is the one game we had a bit of luck go our way) but Leicester and Arsenal was thrown away, 1 up against a palace side and get beat and I can't remember any united keeper in modern memory pull off so many saves against and we missed a pen. Ultimately I really think that could cost us come end of the season.Thought id give this an update after a further 3 games
