Call ourselves The People's Club???????

To be fair this isn't the clubs fault but in general they aren't great at dealing with these things. My wembley tickets last season were in with the neighbours ones, its a good job they were honest enough to give them back to us, some nob could have got hold of them and sold them.

The club didnt give a monkees and didn't even apologise, pretty terrible to be fair

I live four hours trainride away now and work shifts, I've bought tickets for matches I couldn't go to on numerous occassions.

It's just an expected hazard. And frankly better Everton gets that money than all the pimps and drug dealers my hardcore porn site subscriptions fund.

There's nothing wrong with the product you brought, just something wrong with the people who have the product ffs! How is that the club's fault?

I repeat, there is NOTHING wrong with what you purchased.

If you went back into the supermarket after you bought a lettuce and said "can I have a refund, I don't feel like lettuce anymore" they'd probably tell you to do one mate.

I'm with Street End Boy on this. The club need to address their refund policy, even advise him on options like stubhub. £175 is a lot of money plus Everton could well lose a lot more than that in the long run, because that would put you off going back.

The lid hasn't been to a game since 89 he said so i doubt the club are worried about losing business.

Out of interest.

If you got tickets to see a band and somebody got ill and couldn't go, the same thing happened as the tickets are down as non-refundable.

Would you never go to see that band again?

It is unfortunate but it is nothing different to what thousands of event management companies do on every event.

Bit petty to never go to watch the team you support because you have been unlucky in the fact that members of your party got ill (hope they get get well soon by the way) and also the timing of it.

Okay so does your seat spoil and nobody can sit there, ever?

Ridiculous likening 'hiring' a 'seat' in a Stadium for 90 minutes to fresh food, come on.

Saying that you can spend Hundreds of Pounds on an event, and within plenty of time not being able to refund and re-sell that ticket is completely fine? These people live 12000 miles away FFS. Not down the road when you can go anytime you feel like it.

Mates, in this day and age that is so out of touch it's bordering on Robbery. I'm not against anyone or the Club, but I'll bet everyone here telling the OP its your own fault would be absolutely fuming if they couldn't get refund / massive discount on the next ticket if they 'Hired' a 'seat' on an airplane for that trip you'd been planning forever.

The home match ticket is issued for your sole use and you shall not resell, assign or (save as set out in clause p. below) transfer the home match ticket or the benefit of it to any other person without the prior written consent of the Club. The reference to reselling the home match ticket includes reference to offering to sell a home match ticket, exposing a home match ticket for sale, making a home match ticket available for sale by another and advertising that a home match ticket is available for purchase. For the avoidance of doubt (and by way of example only) this home match ticket may not be offered as a prize in any promotion or competition or transferred, lent or sold to any third party as part of a hospitality or travel package, given to a third party who agrees to buy another good or service or used for any other commercial purpose save as expressly authorised by the Barclays Premier League or the Club.
If more than one home match ticket is issued to you one home match ticket must be retained by you for personal use (subject to the provisions below) and the remainder may be transferred to your guest(s) for his/her personal use only provided that such transfer takes place in consideration of no payment or benefit in excess of the face value of the home match ticket, and such transfer does not take place in the course of any business or for the purpose of facilitating any third party’s business. You will provide the name and address of your guest(s) when asked to do so by any official, steward or employee of the Club or any police officer. In the event that you and/or your guest are unable to use any home match ticket then you may transfer that home match ticket (s) to a natural person who is known to you personally who would be entitled (under the Conditions) to purchase such home match ticket and attend such match provided that such transfer takes place in consideration of no payment or benefit in excess of the face value of the home match ticket, and such transfer does not take place in the course of any business or for the purpose of facilitating any third party’s business. Aren't plane tickets non refundable and incur a charge to change if, for example, a football match is postponed or if you have to change because of illness? Carrying on the travel theme, it is the same for trains as well. One example, a few years ago I booked a birthday weekend away with a few mates and my girlfriend but we broke up after I had bought the train tickets, couldn't get a refund so I got on with it without fuming.

With the information to hand it does not sound like exceptional circumstances, it is very unfortunate but T&Cs are there for a reason.

You can't tell I work in a place where people constantly try to claim all kinds of crap to get refunds can you?

Tbh I've been harsh on the fella. I think the club should refund out of good faith. These are extenuating circumstances. Should be up to 48 hours prior to the match or something.

To be fair if you bought a car then had all your limbs eaten in a shark attack you wouldn't expect Ford to give you a refund.
