Most shops and supermarkets are successful businesses and operate a returns policy (like E.F.C. use to).

I know if I take something back to my supermarket that will spoil within 24 hours, they won't take it. Because they can't re-sell it.

That's what you're asking the club to do here. It's not reasonable or customary in football. Sorry your friends are sick.

You can't refund tickets within 24 hours of the fixture, it's in the ticket T&C's ... And most ticket agencies/ clubs etc. have similair połices

So there was a refund policy ? . From personal experience i know there isn't now like , you would need a Very good Sympathy story (better than my Broken leg anyway) and Camera crew to get anything back these days.

.

Next time take out insurance. I go to the theatre a lot & I've got an annual policy that I can claim against if I'm sick & can't attend. £100 a year last time I renewed.

I'm with Street End Boy on this. The club need to address their refund policy, even advise him on options like stubhub. £175 is a lot of money plus Everton could well lose a lot more than that in the long run, because that would put you off going back.

It's not the clubs fault he can't go. The tickets he's holding still work, after all so why should the club take the loss on them?

In my case when i spoke to club i was told if wanted refund (which u will get due to circumstances) said one person on phone, i would have to get the individual full price league match ticket back to them asap (so they can put it back on the system) and a letter with it stating why and what happend etc , which was done that same day. I was then told the head ground steward will call it , when re contacting i was told he said no , no refund will be given.

So as been said maybe some clarification on these matters would not go a miss

.

You can't expect a refund when the club can't re-sell those seats, due to the lack of notice. Get to the ground & sell them yourself if you want something back for them.
