By Jove, he said it. HE SAID IT.

There's no need to interpret too much, it's explicit. Just humour me for a second:

You're the CEO of a club who has a stadium move on the boil that is in the balance, do you a) keep your own counsel on the stadium subject whilst the delicate decision making process is underway; b ) crack on with the Kirkby option whilst making a diplomatic response that doesn't alienate a section of the fanbase and certain public bodies; c) burn all bridges behind you by insulting all and sundry in an effort to out-Wyness Wyness and look like you're in control of events.

His arrogance is staggering. 'We've knocked this over and that over'...as if the people putting them forward had the worst intention for EFC on their mind.

At least Wyness was the obnoxious real deal; this feller's just Wyness-lite.

Agreed. It wasn't a clever statement and I can't see what he wants to achieve unless it is to somehow put wind into people. In fact, maybe that is precisely what he wants.

is he already planning to move on to pastures new? it seems a very ill-judged statement to make, as well as contentious & of questionable accuracy. what a shame it'll be if elstone proves himself to be as big a dick as wyness was.

What surprises me is the boards lack of ambition and belief in Kirkby, the idea is for the stadium to give us the potential to get back on track with Liverpool and Man United.

Yet the stadium hasn't been designed to one day reach the same size as Liverpool proposed one or Man U's one. I can accept now that we are behind them but I don't accept putting the white flag up to them for the rest of my life before we've even begun! Is it a lack of ambition or lack of belief or both?

The very fact you dont see Liverpool FC even having this conversation speaks volumes . We are being strong armed by people who should not even be there . Everton FC has such a precious history , moving that to another County by how how many metres is irrelavant . It should never happen . This move is just too easy for them to say no . The plain fact of the matter is they are NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH to move within Liverpool Cities boundries .

Theyre not trying hard enough because we're going to Kirkby wether we like it or not. They might aswell put bus timetables in the programme so we know which one to catch. They wont even look into staying in Liverpool because they've been blinded by Tessy's money and the thought that they can sell us easier with a new ground. Then they'll all do a runner and we'll be stuck with Kirkby for the rest of our days.

i have gathered a lot of respect for elstone this season.

he has certainly not shyed away from his tasks and seems very commited to doing the best he can.
imo he has been very profesional ,very involved , honest in his comments and shows a lot of determination in his actions.

elstone came in at a very shakey time off the pitch, brought a bit of optimism with his attitude and helped steady things imo.

agree with his opions on kirkby or not , you have to admit his pro active attitude puts wyness to shame ?

giddity giddity

Lets face facts here. If he was making such a statement about a stadium inside city boundaries people here would be lauding it.

I don't think so, Bruce. There are plenty of places in the outer districts of Liverpool that I would object to precisely because of the location. If the boundary was altered tomorrow and Kirkby became part of the city, I would still think it a bad move.
