Busting our balls [Vadis odjidja ofoe]

Might have to wait for Moyes' book or something, but I'd like a timeline on the events of deadline day. Seems we wasted time on N'Zonzi and Essien, but surely we could have signed N'Zonzi ahead of Stoke if we were really keen? Equally I'm sure we would have dropped out of trying to sign Essien as soon as Madrid was mentioned.

It seems like a mess that could have been averted really.

n'zonzi was our 1st choice but surely it wouldn't have been to hard for everton to say we only want to loan you, rather than waiting until the talks had started. that would have saved time. i doubt we really spent too much time on essien and you would hope that they were at least talking about this belg lid at the same time. if they were doing one at a time, we really should worry

I think the problem is we were looking for a loan. If we'd been willing to buy N'Zonzi we'd probably have gotten him.

I don't understand why this guy was Moyes' third choice. Essien is old and not really one for the future, or even the present, and it seems to me that Ofoe is rated as someone with serious potential and ability. Few say the same about N'Zonzi, decent as he is.

agree, the only thing i can think of is that maybe we were going to target the belg in jan or the summer on a perm, but we only wanted a loan to fill in until then. depends what the story is really, apparently we were trying to buy the belg and ran out of time. none of it makes sence

To be fair, if we dont sign him, then Everton are to blame for not filling a position that needed to be filled. We knew the deadline was 11pm friday all summer, so it shouldnt have come down to this.

The prospect of Ofoe joining us gives up hope we have unearthed another Cahill,Pienaar or Arteta.
The liklehood however is that Ofoe will take time to settle into the country and the club and may not be ready to play in the first team anytime soon,if ever.
N'Nzonzi and Essien were both ready to play straight away and this was an obvious attraction to the manager ,the injury to Gibson emphasises the need for players that can come straight into the team.

I say, this seems rather like an absolute farce old chaps. Just doesn't seem possible that the Everton board could be at fault before any of you blighters start a carry on !

But everyone was happy before they knew about this, this was a bonus

So if this gets the go ahead before our next game it will still be a farce? Makes me laugh how quick people use things as a stick to beat the club with

not always the case.
Some players adapt immediatly.

i honestly bellieve even if we dont get Ofoe then Heitinga could play in that role. i dont believe we are doomed because Gibson is injured.
