Anyone done a self build? Any advice ?

We just finished the foundation on our place in Connemara Ireland...

Costs a small fortune to dig a hole then fill it back in.

I'm more of a finishing touches kinda fella. Floors, tiling, kitchens, bathrooms etc.

I know a brickie who's currently at a loose end.
Wonder if he fancies a few weeks in the Emerald Isle with an arl pal laying a few blocks...

Kind of - pretty much planned it but got pros to help on details and to do the formal drawings and planning application. Then got a a main contractor but organised the trades etc. Not sure how much help I can be - its about 15 years ago - but ask feel free to ask.
