it is the very first stage.

I had knee surgery a few years ago and was pedaling a stationary bike and doing aqua jogging in a pool after 8 days.
that's when the really hard work kicks in - prescribed exercises at least twice a day, with sleep being crucial due to the healing process it allows.

his good physical state before the injury will be of much more benefit to him.
bone breaks can be notoriously difficult to heal correctly

best of luck to him
I just love the guy, gave Baines hard competition. Just 24 year old, have 10 years left in his body

This is true but I don't think anyone is expecting him back in the royal blue anytime soon. The speed in which he's been able to get to the stage where he is doing light cycling and walking with no crutch is impressive though and causes us to be optimistic he could represent his country at the WC which would be massive for the lad!

Likewise. I'll be ecstatic if he recovers in time to rep Costa Rica in the World Cup. Not expecting him back in Goodison any time soon.

er..

Ok, so not expecting him to be active for the Blues anytime soon.

Just really happy to see him make such quick progress and maintain a positive attitude. Smiles and EFC swag. Love it.

Or even baines at defensive mid ala phillip lahm
I know it was a bit throaway but genuinely interesting shout mate. I think he'd be excellent there, actually. Not a position that requires anywhere near as much pace as fullback - one for the future? Be a great way to get him and Oviedo both in. Barry's replacement?

I would imagine that the breaks will heal well given the level of medical care available, the psychological damage given the traumatic nature of the injury may be more difficult to assess.Just a case of crossing our fingers he emerges as a similar level of player

I think we miss him as he always was there to have a shot or create a goal for us - Hope he comes back next season a stronger player he is an inspiration for that Blues!

he's barely played a game for us - not sure we've missed him on-field per se - not sure if he would have even spent a minute on the pitch bar the cup tbh

I broke my knee 5 years a go, bit of fractured bone, partially torn my LCL and MCL, torn my ACL. After having my ACL hamstring graft I spent a day with a crutch then started physio right away. Light bike work, swimming, balance stuff, back to full sport specific stuff after 7 months and that's while I was at uni going out nearly every night and trying to learn. Leg rehab and surgery has improved incredible amount over the past 15 years. My Dad broke his leg at a similar age to when I broke my knee, when he was at Shef Wednesday and pretty much ended his career of becoming a professional footballer. Bryan will be back in time for the world cup.
