.....it's difficult but on the plus side you can take on a replacement who is enthusiastic and able enough to meet your requirements and also desperate for a job.

Hopefully, mate. Good labourers are very hard to come by, so when you do get one you have to fight tooth and nail to keep them. This one wasn't one! Same with forklift drivers, too.
