Bily speaks...

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov says joining Everton is a dream come true.

The Russian international signed for the Toffees from Lokomotiv Moscow on Tuesday and can't wait to get started in what he described as the best league in the world.

The 24-year-old midfielder explained that he is aware of the quality in Everton's squad, particularly Brazilian striker Jo who formerly played in Russia for Lokomotiv's City rivals CSKA.

But he also knows about Everton's illustrious history and the impact another Russian winger had at Goodison Park.

"It is a dream to play for Everton and I know that the Premier League is the best league in the world," Diniyar exclusively told evertonfc.com. "I am looking forward to playing in the league and in the Europa League and helping Everton to win things.

"I know Everton has big players and a big history. I know the Club is 131-years-old and has good traditions.

"I am very happy the deal is done and I hope to be at Everton soon. I am looking forward to doing my best for the team.

"I spoke to David Moyes on the phone yesterday and he congratulated me on the move. He said he is looking forward to working with me and I am looking forward to working with him."

Bilyaletdinov is the latest of several high quality Russian imports to the Premier League, following the likes of Andrei Arshavin, Yuri Zhirkov and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

But it was Kanchelskis who blazed the trail back in 1991 when he switched to Manchester United before joining Everton in 1995.

"I know about Everton's players and I know Jo from when he played in the Russian league," revealed the midfield man.

"I also know that Andrei Kanchelskis played for Everton. Andrei is a hero for all people in Russia so I am very happy to know that he has played for a club like Everton.

"I have not spoken to my Russian teammates yet but when I next go to the national training camp I will speak with Arshavin, Zhirkov and Pavlyuchenko about what it is like in the Premier League.

"I can't wait to get going."

We'll wait and see.

He doesn't look anything like Pienaar in terms of style. Pienaar is all about touch, intelligence and quick, intricate passing.

Diniyar Bilyalatdinov looks more of a dribbler, someone who can carry the ball and beat people. Something we've lacked since the days of Kanchelskis and Limpar.

With respect mate, those three are world class and they hardly ever give a defender they're facing the green light that the ball is there's to attack. It's always under control even at high speed.

More my concern is how the lad takes the ball and gathers it in. That's why yu're seeing amazing twists and turns...it's not in his possession and his athleticism gets him out of the situation.

As I say. Looks a good signing, but I think we have the right to project ahead and speculate where he might find it difficult here.

Thats what I was trying to say Dave.

Hoooooooorayyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

You think this means that the Elm deal is dead now?

or will we sign....I cant believe I'm typing this.

Or will we sign BOTH!!!!

please don't shout at me.

awwww, I think I might cry with happiness! He wants us, he loves us, can't wait to be with us......

wonder how much we're paying him?

Seriously, this news has cheered me up no end and we should all link arms and be happy.

:DHe's not exactly a Nuno replacement in the looks department (needs a bit more muscles) but he'll do for starters.:D

This will be Nuno's replacement.

He'll provide some latin flair and obviously the head band will count for something. We've lacked a head band since Pistone and Valente left.

eeek (runs for cover). He may have a headband but that's where the similarity ends.

kindof looks like if you don't agree with him he'll pull out his AK, shoot you up and go hide back in the bushes with the rest of the guerilla fighters

"(Russia coach) Guus Hiddink has even used him as an emergency left-back in the past.”

Looks like we wont have to waste any mopney on a leftback either ... moyes signing if there ever was one !!
