Terry Curran every time he got the ball in a meaningless night match at Everton some time in the mid-80s. There weren't many of us there (500 at the most) to see it but it was the best individual attacking performance I've ever seen from an Everton player. He was dribbling past defenders for fun. I might be wrong but I also think he scored.

... that maybe noone else remembers.

I'd like to say that we've all been there but maybe it's just this old bloke with cataracts, a sippy cup and a chair that smells suspiciously of pee.

There have been a few games where a player has come up with something that just whacks the whatnot out of you. The "Oh my good God" moment. Two that stick in my mind are a chip and lay off from Tommy Wright in the Anfield derby, 1970. L'pool had been attacking and the ball broke to Wright who ran a few yards, was challenged by their left winger (Thompson?) and who chipped it over him, brought it back under control and layed it off to Whittle. At the time, I thought to myself, "Bloody hell, we've got Pele at right back".

Another was Bally at Man City in '68, who wrestled the ball off one of their midfielders ran a couple of yards and threaded a perfect through ball to Royle who went on to score. It just summed up, in a few seconds, what a pearl we had in that player.

Have any of you had that stomach churning moment of bliss?

(Can't post video. Electricity had only just been discovered, let alone moving pictures!)
Tommy Wright, now there was a full back mate, bit before my time but heard all about him saw recently the Brazil v England 1970 World Cup game(the one with Banks great save from Pele)and I thought Wright was the best player on the pitch!!some company on that pitch as well!!!
