Blues weighing up Lookman loan

Everton are said to be exploring the possibility of sending Ademola Lookman out on loan, according to the Liverpool Echo.

Lookman joined the club 12 months ago for a reported £11 million, but after the dream start of netting against Manchester City on his debut the young winger has failed to hold down a first team spot.

The 20-year-old has managed just 24 appearances for the Toffees since his move from Charlton. Lookman has featured 16 times this campaign, 11 of those have come from the bench and he has only accumulated 591 minutes on the pitch.

Sam Allardyce confirmed earlier in the month he was keen to send some youngsters out on short term deals to get a taste of first team action, he said: “Some of them are a lot of young talent that has developed and needs developing and maybe we might choose to let that development happen somewhere else on loan until the end of the season.”

Decent option off the bench at the moment but it would be good for him to get more minutes. Realistically with Walcott and Bolasie starting more often than not, and Vlasic apparently ahead of him in the pecking order, his opportunities will be limited.

Absolutely the right thing to do for him. Yes, the team may suffer short term, but the long term rewards will be worth it. Besides, if he isnt going to play him anyway, whats the point of keeping him in the squad?

A loan to a championship team, much like Dowell, I think would do a world of good for both his skill and confidence.

He needs it . If he takes his chance like Dowell has with forest and Coleman did with Blackpool he will be a great player for years to come .
Players either sink or swim on loan . If he’s got the right attitude him and Everton can only Benefit from it .

It needs to be the right club though . That’s the issue .
