Blues Outsinging Opposition Supporters

From the away end at Newcastle (the Leazes Stand) I was impressed by how the Newcastle fans continued to try to rouse and encourage their players, even when they were 1-0 behind. It was my first away game for years so I hadn’t seen such support in a long time.

I don’t think abusing your own players really achieves much, other than to destroy their confidence and make them play even worse.

TBF they didn't need to rouse them for long between our goal and the equaliser. One bad pass and goodison groans. Think we'll be up for it today though

To be honest, you will feel much obliged to sing and cheer if our players work as hard and press as hard as Newcastle did.

No doubt the fans will do their part from kick off, but after 15 mins of strolling, uninspired lack of passion football, the crowd will inevitably die down and abuse will follow.

It goes both ways.
