Not a bad first half, the goal at the end was a bit poor, but we looked in control for large parts of that, we were actually able to pass to each other and create some good chances and took the two goals well.

Blackpool just passed around our entire midfield with two passes there. No-one covering the wide midfield areas because the wingbacks are too deep and we only have two CMs on the field. I'd take Mina off, bring Gbamin on as the DM and go 433.

PS: Gana (loan), Grillitsch (free) and Knight (£4m) all in tomorrow by 10am please.
Gbamin isn't on the bench today I believe

How do you reach such an outrageous conclusion?
Because it is preseason and you're looking for a system you can build on. The Minnesota game had issues but we moved the ball upfield well and played in good areas. We also pressed well at times and pinned them back while winning the ball high up. We made mistakes and it cost us but generally it worked.

Today is the opposite. We've had a couple of moments but generally it is crap. We're playing the ball around 15 yards inside our own half and just begging them to press us, which a good team would do easily. We can't move the ball forward and are relying on really long balls to do anything. And we're not really putting them under any pressure when they have the ball. A better team will have success playing through us.

There is nothing here to build on when we play quality sides. Rondon isn't getting in behind against PL defenders and when VAR can overrule the linesman when he gets a head start.

Bowler looks to have some talent. Bit of a worldy of an effort.
Has anyone said Bowler is an Ex-Everton player? Never made a 1st team appearance, another academy player that didnt make the grade....

Obviously Luke Garbutt....

Pickford fault for thier goal. Doucoure really isn't very good. Tarks doing ok as is Patterson going forward & Myko really does love that bottom right corner. Rondon is currently more useful than Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Not saying he's great or even good or even ok or even meh but still more useful to the team than Dominic Calvert-Lewin at current showing.
