Match Thread Blackburn 1-0 Everton. Sat July 19th 3pm.

Are they taking the next month off?

Maybe training and playing games will help them improve.

Novel I know but worth a try.
It’s not the first time we’ve ever seen them play though is it? We know they probably won’t get that much better in the next 30 days, because we’ve been watching them be rubbish for the last few years. Don’t get me wrong, the result in a friendly is completely irrelevant, but if people are seeing the team have the same issues they’ve seen over recent seasons, they’re going to comment on it aren’t they?

Made it look difficult out there today and you'll hope that sharpness is to come,

Thought a few of the boys looked knackered from the off, particularly Garner, McNeil and Alcaraz. N'diaye not sharp today which is expected, Gueye looked miles above everyone on the pitch in terms of talent, fitness and sharpness. I do think we need an injection of pace in the team, not just on the wing but all over, that left winger that came on for rovers for the last 20 minutes or so was that fast, genuinely cant remember the last time I've seen an everton player go that fast with my own eyes!

Remember when we’d easily beat lower league teams in preseason?

Now we either lose or scrape draws

Been that way for a while
Here's some previous results, a mixed bag.

a bit better.

Mate that’s brilliant , thanks soMuch for positing . So Many of them so much better and yet other years so much worse than I recall . In both cases I suspect because I was out the gate at HT in the vast majority of them.

Genuinely really appreciate that .

To me I will not be staying in to watch that - my nephew went - DM has regressed us playing like Dyche did - our keeper gets more touches than our CF .....

….much improved since Moyes came in, including wins at Forest and Newcastle away. You can only work with what you have and Moyes gave the squad more capability.

Where’s the logic in ‘DM has regressed us’ given the points we accrued since he came in?

Who's next on our magical mystery tour?
Port Vale, behind closed doors next I think. Then :

Cheers. Hopefully it'll be a substantial ramp up over the next couple of weeks with that opposition.
