Bid for Ramsey accepted

Agreed. If we've got 30 million then I wouldn't be worried at all. If we've got 20 million and where spending 5 of it on a untried youngster who won't be a regular I'd be a bit worried.
I find it hard to believe that given the number of players we need that we can afford to spend all this on a kid who there is no certainty will come good,I just hope its not a step back to the old days of bidding with out any intention of completing the deal like the Shearer bid a few years ago but I cant see Davy going for that so if its his choice then fair enough his transfer record is not that bad.(y)

I originally had that thought - the phantom bid I call it, seem to have one every season.
But with this, I don't think that's necessarily the case. I think we're genuinely interested, and I understand you saying you don't see why we're willing to spend it on potential - but the truth is, if he comes good (which I believe he will) and ends up being top notch, then we will look back and say why weren't we willing to shell out just a couple mill more to nab him now.

We are definatly interested but I think Moyes, Kenwright and everyone else knows we haven't got a chance of getting him and never did. I could be wrong but I think its a pointless bid.

We haven't got much chance of getting him, but there is still a very slight chance we may if he decides he wants first team football in the premiership now. At least we're trying to sign him, if we hadn't of put a bid in for him I can imagine some people asking questions as to why we didn't at least give ourselves a chance of signing him. So its not really a pointless bid its just one thats very unlikely to happen.

Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic but I don't think that is a pointless bid. We're a good proposition for a youngster of his type. He'll do nothing at United, at least for a couple of years. With us he has the chance of football in the premiership and Europe. If I was him I'd be thinking laterally: get to Everton, light the place up, get a big move to United in a couple of years, on fat wages, and be the next wonder kid. If he really rates himself, then that is the most sensible move.

Your right you are a hopeless romantic:lol::lol:I think if United really want him they will simply offer him more than we can and his agent will do the rest.

Bothe Fergie and Wenger came out and said neither are going to be around after 2011 the Kid would be only 21 then, he should be carfull of what hes buying into. We are the future.

Trouble is he could play champions league this season if he joins the Arse and stay in Cardiff for another year if he joins the Mancs and still get a nice pay rise:@

Neither will Moyes if we don't off our asses and sign the guy.

So you'd prefer we be used as a stepping stone to 'bigger and better things'? :P
