Bid for Ramsey accepted

For me, Fernandes is a non starter. We would have to agree a fee with Valencia for 50% of him, which wont be cheap after they just paid £12m for him. Then agree a fee with the other lot.

But its not about Fernandes is it. Its about Ramsay. For £5m, I definitely would. Although i'd be surprised if it happens.

We first bid for Ramsay this time last year, for such a prolonged interest, Moyes is clearly a fan.

I trust his judgement, if you dont, maybe trust Fergusons or Wengers?

Thats a good point mate, Moyesy made comments about Manny at the end of the season, and siad he was going to go and think and consider his options. Looks like he made his decision.

The last time i remember him saying something similar, was when he let ferrari go and we got Lescott, which i think i posted in a Manny thread at the time.

The thing about it is has Moyes ever signed a poor player from the Championship?

Not really mate.

Moyes is a MASSIVE fan of Manuel, it's obvious he wants to bring him back but it only makes it financially possible for him to bring him on loan.

According to the Liverpool daily post the RS have also had a bid accepted but have also tried to sweeten the deal by offering Cardiff two young wide men Paul Anderson and Adam Hammill on a season long loan.

If they get him? I hope he's not as good Neiler claims!

To be honest I am a bit weary about buying a 17 year old for 5 million. I'd rather add a few million on and go for Fernandes or someone else who would be able to command a regular spot in the team.

If we have bucket loads of money then fine but I don't think we have. We should be getting our main targets in before potential squad players.

Well, if it is too much money only time will tell. But CRonaldo cost 10 million when he was only 18.

ramsey

all the talk coming from davey moyes is about going to the next level
a 17 year old is going to struggle in europe and he would only get a prem game against the lower teams we need 24 yr olds we need a
striker we need a tall fast defensive midfielder who can pass a simple 10 yd ball the african lad from seville cruz blackburn
bentley blackburn we dont need to buy unproven british players just because the rules might change in three years 6+5 rule

Is that the same daily mail who exclusively revealed that we had 20 mill to spend at the begining of last week! Its a rag!

The only source i trust is the bbc or the o.s. Everything else just isnt gravey!

"He's got the potential but he's still got a long way to go."

This quote Ratcliffe stands out for me. Ramsay very well may be a fantastic prospect but he isn't somone who's going to go to Man utd, Arsenal, Liverpool or even Everton and demand a first team spot. At the first three teams he'd either be loaned back to the Championship and gain experience or he'd come to us and be a squad player.

Lets be honest do people really think he'll demand a place in our team? If he's not at Cardiff then I can't see it at Everton. He wasn't on the bench all the time at Cardiff but he was very much in out and out of the team. Thats the best way to go with youngsters in all honesty.

Like I've said I'd love to see us beat the likes of Wenger, Benitez and Ferguson to the lad but I am a bit weary of the price tag. If someone is costing 5 million you'd expect him to atleast push for a starting place. He very well could do but at 17 and with 20 games under his belt he is a very very ineperienced and could find it hard at this level. I'm happy but myslelf and others have every right to be a little weary of buying a 17 year old for 5 million

Anyway, we'll see what happens.

I can see were, your coming form mate, but like i said we are a funny breed we moan when we dont bid five million for good youngsters and moan when we do!

I dont think it will happen, but i thnk any potential outlay will be more then recouped in what his value will be as an asset to the club. Has anyone else noticed we very rarely sign players that we dont feel their value will rise!

Just read ex blue and Ramsey's manager Davey Jones said he would suit Utd. Thought he would point the lad to goodison being one of ours (n)

5M is alot for a 17 year old and I'm actually suprised that Ramsey isn't worth more if Utd is interested. Cardiff should hold on to him after all Southampton got 11M for Bale and 16M for Walcott. Are they that much better than Ramsey?
