One thing thelwell seems to have gotten more right than wrong is the signings of players with a bit of character.

He's so unorthodox because he didn't come through the usual route, but we love players like him here don't we.
I've never a bad word to say about somebody who just loves to play for Everton. They may be technically limited and at times frustrating, but they deserve our total support. I think that's what makes moments like the third goal last night so amazing.

Because when we see the effort he puts in regardless of ability we will back you to the hilt.
He doesn't seem to have an ego and he puts in a shift everytime, he is proper rough around the edges but he will be very effective for us not just scoring goals but creating chaos and unsettling defenders.
