Considering Boro apparantly want £12m for Yakubu, maybe we could force Blackburn's hand by bidding a similar fee for McCarthy.

I'd much rather Benni imo (y)
 

Wow, if we gave him 10 for Benni, Blackburn would have made quite a tidy profit, considering he cost them ~1mill!!!!!
 
Cost them about £2.75m i think, well i thought.

We could move in for about £9m, they might say no but i think something around £12m might prove to good to turn down.
 
McCarthy is too similar to AJ in my eyes.. wouldn't complement eachother well.. would be too similar in style.

As Rob said. This is another big + for Yak. We need to strengthen the team, and if you look at the scoring capability both Yak and McCarthy would do that.. however we're also building a team for the future and try not to do short term fixes. Yak would be available on a very high lvl for 7-8 years, while McCarthy have perhaps 2-3 seasons left on top.

£10M for a player availbale for 3 season compared to £12M for one we can have for 8? It's a no brainer for me. Yak is a much, much better affair for Everton both in the short and the long run.

Nope, you are right, he went for ~2.5million! Still a massive profit if they got 10 for him.
 
evemn though he has 4 years left in him atleast, i wouldnt get him, i want young players which are good, and can either stay till the end with everton, or be sold again, so either way its a win win situation, that, i think is what moyes is trying to do, looking at the youbger players, 22-25 years old etc...

lets get Van der Vaart, Owen or aguero for 10 million instead!
 
Look, why are we shopping on behalf of the club. We are spending money that isn't ours. Before you know it rumours will start and then the bloody Daily Post will start lying to us again. :)

Moyes has said that he finds out most about players he is signing through the papers.

Were like kids in a sweet shop. I want that one and that one, and some of them. :)
