Back in the USA and getting my Hop on.

(Pizza was better than it looked, was brilliant in the market, fresh out of the oven, glistening, the siren song of pepperoni and SAUCE... sadly did not photograph as well as the beer.)

Welcome back to the US of A (for a time)

I'm sure I already shared some of this, but have had some decent Winter brews:

Ommegang Adoration // Extremely good, Belgian style

Sam Adams Winter Lager // Always good and this is as well, lighter finish than most of this style

Abita Christmas Ale // Their stuff is usually good, but this has too much hops and not enough "winter" flavor for me

Haven't had much beer since November 1st; 8 bottles in total, I think, and I've dropped 17lbs. Can't see me going back to the way I used to drink; a bottle every night, and then about 10 over a weekend.

Good for you. My wife tells me I could do the same, although I don't enjoy as much as you describe. This reminds me, had this yesterday with the family, minus the fancy glass:
