An absolutely first class pint of Old Hooky in the fabulously named Trumpet Inn, Evesham.

Citra hopped craft pale ales and 14% rum barrel stouts all have their place, but sometimes a perfectly kept, clear pint of British bitter is a joyous simple pleasure.

Had a few Timmy Taylors Bolt Maker last night.

I prefer it to the more popular Landlord.

Full bodied and more malty.

A really pleasant bitter.

Golden Road Mango Cart. Not bad, really light, sweet and fruity. It would taste better if I was outside in the 90° heat instead of inside with AC.

Oh yes.


Actually I'm being harsh there it's solid, cheap, warm weather easy drinking euro beer. Much preferable to the likes of Carling for sure.

Thought it might have been edging into sour territory, but its a very nice, refreshing light wheatie, with just a slight watermelon hit.

They`re a Manchester based, but they`ve got one in Liverpool - Liverpool Brewhouse in Parr St.

It`s a while since I`ve been there, but they`re stuff is generally all very good.

Yeah, I saw they were Salford based, didn't know about the Liverpool connection though.
