Ghent Fest - bars are allowed to open from 7am on the Friday, right through until 7am on the Monday if they wish.

Carnage, but a great weekend.

I'd be finished after a day there...The Belgian strongs don't agree with me,few mouthfuls and i can feel myself going west.

Read something dead interesting last week about when Henry the Vlll abolished the monasteries and killed all the monks we lost all brewing knowledge which at the time came from the Monks and monasteries. So blame him coz we'd have had the same swag as the Belgians if it wasn't for him.

Breaker Pale Ale 4.1% - Laine Brew Co.

New brewery to me, from Brighton.

Really nice pint, full bodied for a pale, with a really clean taste.

Fabulously balanced, high octane, smells and tastes like a liquefied stick of fairground rock, but with a lovely spicy undercurrent.
More proof that the best British barley wine can go toe to toe with the Belgians.

This is a lovely one. IPA not overwhelmingly fruity and hoppy. Nice balance to it
