Bad ref decisions - for and against - season 2025/26

According to the stats in another, older, article I read, the number of incorrect decisions has come down over the 6/7 years since it was introduced - this includes both VAR mistakes and overall referreing erros (ie VAR is correcting [significantly] more errors than it is making).

Only counts as an ‘error’ if they admit it’s an error. The Ali handball for example, doesn’t count as an error. Pointless stat.

The one that was posted a few pages back that they literally said was a mistake? Yes, that counts as an error. But correct, this is based on what they decide/admit are mistakes. There are other list around based off of other people's judgements as well, but who is to say they are any better? Everyone will have their own version. Ultimately the only people's opinion of what was an error and what wasn't is the people governing the system.

For example, they didn’t admit that Gabriel’s headbutt was an error. So that’s not in the count.

Kind of nonsense this though, there might be 5 incidents in a game that the ref or VAR doesn’t get involved in, when it should, and none of these count as an error.

Example - Konate should have had a second yellow for a foul on Beto the other year.
