Our home form in the main has been excellent and seems to take care of itself.

If we are going to make any inroads on the top 6 our away form will need to improve considerably

Last season we won 5, drawn 5 and lost the rest.

2 of the draws we were in the lead, and in 6 of the defeats we lost by 1 goal ( 1-0, 2-1 or 3-2)

This season we've drawn 1 and lost 1 so thought I'd start a thread to compare this seasons away form compared to last seasons away form.

So the target should be can we beat 20 points as a bare minimum. I think we'll need to picking up 30 points away from home.

yeah our away from has been pretty poor for a long time now

it has slowly improved over the last few seasons

think there was one season not that long ago where we only won 1 game on the road

we beat leicester last season, we are capable of winning away from home against good sides, i reckon it is a psychological problem

burnley are notoriously difficult to play against and liverpool swept them apart like it was a pre-season friendly yesterday

we need to be able to do this to the bottom half sides

Yep, I always look at who we won against and who we should be winning against (imo) .We beat West Ham, Leicester away ( 2 good away wins that) and Cardiff, Burnley and Huddersfield ( who I'd expect to beat)

We chucked away a 2-0 lead against Newcastle and were in the lead in both Wolves, Bournemouth & Spurs away. We gifted the rs 3 points which ultimately cost us a well deserved point.

Fine margins but they make a massive difference come the end of the season.

I keep hearing about replicating what we do at home, in our away games.

It's absolute rubbish.

We need a different gameplan where we play on the break and are much more compact. We can't be wide open with average defenders.

Silva worries me a lot and he seems to have no answers. Is he so put of his depth that he's scared to make the tough decision to drop an attacker??

Our excessive use of wing play is just too predictable we have more players to pass to than Lucas Digne

Our players prefer to pass off responsibility 90% of the time instead of having a shot and play it out wide. It's a big reason we don't score enough, especially when on one wing we have Coleman crossing them in whose crossing ability is surely among the worst in the league.
