Atmosphere at home games........

Atmosphere was excellent on Sunday. The pubs were rammed early doors as well which always helps everyone seemed up for it. Might not have the same effect for a Sunday 1.30 or a Saturday 12.30 but hopefully it will improve.

That's why I was slightly surprised that we didn't score on Sunday because it felt like one of those moments where the Street End would suck one in.

We weren't great in an attacking sense, yetr when it came to getting towards goals or corners etc it was intense. Love the ol' EVERTON with fingers pointing!
Shame Bernard wasn't a few inches taller. Just missed connecting with that low cross.

Evertonians, for all our ‘School of science’ PR react far better to raw passion. We love skill, don’t get me wrong, but it is only when somebody on the pitch is displaying true passion that the crowd really transforms into the 12th man. So the answer is easy, the lads on the pitch show passion and we will follow them.
If however, it is us showing passion and it is not reflected on the pitch, our passion quickly transforms to anger. That is how it is and how it always has been in my years supporting the blues! I have never, ever seen a guy busting run, a last ditch tackle or an angry encounter with the opposition go unrewarded at Goodison. We are not ( for the most part) scholars if the game, we are a tribe, we match heart with heart, apathy with apathy. Any player or manager who cannot suss that out is quite frankly, an idiot!

Agree with all this, except the solution! Players need motivating, like it or not, and the fans are part of that. It's in the fans' interest to move first!

Meh... it was a guy trying to save his job. The guys getting millions shouldn't require people paying money to put in effort to cheer for them to get them to put in a shift.

I'll never accept this logic. Does it add to the environment and add to it aesthetically , of course. But the players have to play, if Silva is saying this nonsense to any players I'm done.
A good manager relates to the fans. He has them on his side. He has them on his player's side. I can only presume you have never been to a game where the crowd is 100% committed to the cause like on Sunday. It matters. It has an effect. Evertonians are walking around knowing they could go toe to toe with anyone right now. Things like this can be the turning point if you take them.

Silva has a lot of criticism aimed at him, but this is one that can't be faulted.

This, basically.

Now obviously, if the players are woeful and disinterested, I wouldn’t expect the crowd to KEEP bellowing and singing throughout, it’s just unrealistic, but that should be our default position to start every game, and far too often it just isn’t at the moment.

If we start every game like that, then maybe the players will feel compelled to follow suit, and if they don’t, at least we as fans can say “well we’re doing our part”

Good job there were less interviews back in the 80’s, you’d have been calling for Kendall’s head for opening the dressing room window.

I'm sorry, but you're not possibly referring to Bayern not knowing what hit them in regards to Anfield a few weeks ago, right?

The game in which a bad Bayern team came out with a draw on the road, controlled the game, and didn't give up a goal to the favorites propped up by the English and American media?

Lol Bayern couldn't give two bleeps about Anfield. The EPL is my favorite league to watch by far, but it doesn't so crap in Europe. Stop with the arrogance

And in the city game the bus was attacked. That's where you come off as wrong as you can ever be.
Get your Bayern games right mate before you start chatting wham. Remember the CWC semi final at Goodison? Perhaps you dont eh?

I agree mate, which is why I said that if we do show passion from the off and it isn’t replicated on the pitch, the atmosphere quickly turns to anger.

Haha my apologies. That post was after a night out and clearly wrong. The game with Bayern at Anfield was before my time, but I'm clearly in the wrong.

My apologies to all lol.

You're having a 'mare hear mate. Best to stop digging when you're in a hole.

Can't believe I wrote that. Meh, win some lose some. Thanks for the heads up though, I will be gone from this thread until it is resurrected in October.
