Atmosphere at home games........

It seems that a singing section is being set up in the corner of Gwladys Street. I am all in favour, just a pity that it isn't in the middle sections as that would be easier for the hoped for atmosphere to spread. But good that the club is getting behind it....I believe season ticket holders in the relevant sections are getting letters shortly

That's right, not sure if it's all of it (200) or just some of it. I think it will help overall not being in the middle. GT4 is currently the best part for atmosphere so this area in GT8 can help spread their songs around the ground. Plus GT4 can help spread GT8's songs around the other end of the Gwladys St, so should hopefully work together quite well.

We Mainly boo, sing Everton Everton Everton and the occasional if you know your history,be interesting to know how it’s planned that we sing for the whole 90 minutes with such a small choice of songs that we have...

managed it for years and years and years so whats the difference now? languishing in mid table and getting knocked out of cups early just kills the enthusiasm.(answered my own question there:Blink:)

Anyway it's been good last 2, nowhere better when it's bouncing.

True this, we need more songs, also ones that are family friendly and dont have swear words in them, o and dont referance Liverpool since its boring and they should be irrelevant

They got the “Neville Southallllll..Everton oh we love Everton oh” song going last game, favorite Everton song that is.

Need some in the middle with a big [Poor language removed] off loudspeaker saying the players names, could hardly hear it in GT2.

Fair play to the lads though they rarely stopped singing, definitely made a difference.

I always liked the Yakubu song, heard it first in a pre season down at preston after he'd just signed, 'who needs torres when we've got yakubu'

We tried our best mate, was hard being at the very back in gt8 where the roof is really low. Few people joined in with us but not enough. We’ve also got a few new songs that we did try to get going but will take time.

Any sign of a booing section being formally implemented in the Park End?

Always liked this song and never understood why it doesn't get sung at the match? Not talking about the whole thing, just the chorus ...

The chorus is:

And they gave us Dixie, Lawton, Alex Young and Kay
They gave us Harvey, Howard Kendall, Alan Ball, Sharpy and Gray
And now most of the football greats, have passed through Goodison's gates
To play football the school of science way

AND THEY GAVE US ... (repeat)

With it being the last 3-4 seasons at Goodison (if BMD goes ahead) it would be a nice nod to the Old Lady as well

Also great work by the Everton groups getting together trying to make a difference to the atmosphere at Goodison recently, the Gwladys Street has been bouncing the past couple of games. Honestly believe the atmosphere has played a massive part in picking up 4 points against that shower and Chelsea

Email from the Club this morning about the singing section in GT8

I’m in GT8 and support the section in principle
But I’ve asked to be moved to elsewhere in the LG.
If someone want to sing their head off and wave flags all game, then all power to them.
However, I’ll sing (and wave my rattle) when I feel like it - like, you know, when I see some inspiring football maybe.

It’s a bit of a pity if they do this to GT8, coz its a decent bunch around me and it looks like that’ll get broken up.
Again, I support the idea and dont mind moving if it gets a better atmosphere going tbh

I think its a good gesture / incentive to offer free cup tickets for those moving.
Well done, the Club

Thank you for your ongoing support of the Club and for renewing 2 Season Ticket/s for the 2019/20 campaign.

We are contacting you to follow up on next season's plans for the GT8 section of the Howard Kendall Gwladys Street End.

These plans have been developed by the Club in conjunction with fan groups who have been looking at ways to enhance the matchday atmosphere at Goodison Park.

One of the things we are introducing as part of this initiative is a ‘singing section’. GT8 has been identified as the ideal location for this section.

As an existing GT8 Season Ticket holder, your seat/s in this section remain yours. However, we are aware that a section of this nature may, for different reasons, not be ideal for all fans. We are therefore offering fans with seats in this section priority on seat transfers to other parts of the stadium if being part of a singing section – which may also include more flags, banners and increased standing – is not suitable.

Again, we would like to stress that, as a fan in this section, you are not being asked to move as part of this initiative. This email is simply to inform you of our plans and of how this section will be changing in order to ensure that, if you do not want to be part of this singing section, we can identify the best available seats in your preferred alternative location.

Please let us know where you'd like to sit next season

Our Fan Centre team have been contacting those in GT8 this week to gather feedback and confirm preferences but have been unable to reach you. Please click here to fill out a quick form to give us your choice for the location of your 2019/20 Season Ticket/s.

You will be given priority on a seat transfer should you wish to move to another section of the Lower Gwladys - or to another area of the ground. If your preference is to move to a more expensive section of the ground, we can confirm that we will honour the price you have already paid for your 2019/20 Season Ticket/s, so there will be no additional cost incurred by moving. We can also confirm that all fans that choose to relocate from GT8 will also receive complimentary tickets for all 2019/20 cup games at Goodison Park.

If you would prefer to call the Fan Centre directly, you can do so between the hours of 8am and 6pm by dialling 0151 etc
Once again, thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards,

Everton Football Club

Thanks for posting, I was wondering what the club asked.

Honouring the same price for a move to a more expensive stand plus free Cup tickets is very commendable. Fingers crossed for a treble Europa League, League Cup and FA Cup trophies!
