Does anyone think he deserves a run in the team ? Defence looked a lot more confident last night, our first clean sheet in ages and I thought he commanded his box very well last night, for me a major fault of Pickford, helped by the size of him definitely.

Should give him a run. I like big and tall keeper and we are more confident when defending setpieces.

I remember Begovic playing for Stoke, and in some big games he was the only guy left standing. All his mates collapsed and it became a shooting gallery, but he kept all out. Fantastic keeper. On his day as good as Pickford and maybe sometimes better. At least its good to know we have 2 very good goalkeepers.

It's still a very difficult call to drop Pickford, who is a brilliant shot stopper. But Begovic brought a sense of calm to the defence that I don't think Pickford does. Begovic will play again Sunday and another solid defensive performance and ideally a clean sheet would certainly ask the question.

Did not drop him, he has Covid. Begovic has been playing in the fa cup matches anyway.

For once our keeper wasn't busy last night. I guess, his place in the team shouldn't be judged on it. However, if he got the back four orgainsed then shows a bid difference. But remember that there have been bad defensive performances when he has played.

Yeah I know, I meant it's a big call to give Begovic a run in the team longer term. But as I say another good showing on Sunday could give something for Frank to think about. There were certainly times last night when Bego commanded the box more than Pickford generally does, particularly when we were defending the lead.
