Another loss. 12 points behind the RS after 6 games and no hope of getting close to them. A wake up call for some of those on here with blue tinted spectacles on. Bottom 3 looks a safer bet than top 4 at this point.
Tipp blue is nailed on with his assessment.
Its definitely not a wake up call that losing away to Arsenal means we're not anywhere near Liverpool. I could've told you that at any point in the last 4 years and you're a fool if you don't believe it.

If you don't take your chances against the better clubs, it'll come back to bite you. Simples. We should have been a goal or two up at half time.

What's more concerning to me was that we just threw in the towel and gave up as soon as that second goal went it. On 59 minutes. Don't tell me we can't get back into a game that has 30+ minutes left in it. Silva has to sort out the mentality of some of these players.

if you don’t take your chances against the lesser clubs it comes back to bite you as well.

.We could easily have scored three or four against Hammers last week with better finishing :(

Just watched the first half. Soooooo many chances, some good saves from Cech and some missed opportunities but we were the better team first half. The amount of chances we need to score is alarming. It's a huge upgrade on last season though, beat Fulham and go from there.

I have been really pissed off with some our results in our first 6 games, lots of needless points drops, there is a few things needed to fixed by our manager.

But I am 100% behind the man, we were honestly the most dangerous team on the park yesterday, they didn't have a cooking clue what to do against us and there backs were against the wall, their first goal was against the run of play and happened to be a bloody worldly top bin, gave them the false sense of superiority, but I know, and what makes me happy is they were pooping in the pants against us at home, and that makes me happy.

IMO my biggest problem is ( bigger that the defence issue) we need to score when we are on top, because we have been in EVERY game

Does anyone actually what happens on the pitch.

Few Arsenal fan quotes on one of their forums for a bit of perspective. Read these and tell me we haven't improved since last year, alright the result didn't go our way but that's footy.

I wouldn't say dominance but they were certainly better on the ball and cut through a few times. We looked frenetic on the ball until just before the goal. We were rushing everything.
Having not watched the match, this concerns me. Did Cech keep us in the game due to Everton's dominance?
They got in behind us with ease several times in the 1st half, could've been 2 or 3 up. 2nd half they created nothing.
Ha true, but we really do need to improve generally, if Everton took their chances we'd have been buried in the first half.
They know we were better than them and their keeper being MOM says it all I think.

There were clearly signs for hope that we can turn our season round. The game should have done and dusted in the first half if we had a decent striker up there. DCL and Tosun just do not seem to be able to cut it. However our defence still needs to get it's act together.

But when you have poor decisions from officials not much can be done about that. It brings into question should every game have a VAR facility?

Don’t be silly. The lads played well today, we were the better side and should have walked away with a 3-1 win....

Ok Pete, maybe I was just frustrated at the lack of anything for the last 30 minutes. I agree we were good in the first half, but there needs to be more than what was on display after they got the second (offside) goal.

The commentators on the aussie stream said var was coming in next year????

Not being anywhere near Liverpool, means we're we're not anywhere Liverpool. They're miles ahead of us. We need to close the gap on teams immediately ahead of us, not Liverpool who occupy the top of the league.

For an hour or so, it was a very encouraging performance. Everton maintained a quick tempo with their pressing and passing, and should have been at least one goal up at half-time.

However, what was disappointing was the way in which they gave up and felt sorry for themselves after the sucker punches that were Arsenal's goals. If Everton had pulled one back at any point in the remaining half-hour, Arsenal would have started to panic, and the final minutes would have seen them camped on the edge of their own box, inviting pressure. It happens in virtually every game where there's a single-goal margin.

Wow lads we can't think in those terms without a number nine who can slot them in. We have talent the finishing is suspect. January or summer transfer window is a must to find not one but two finishers with some caliber.

It was probably our best performance so far this season in the first hour, but I never thought we were going to win.

We've been unlucky in other games, silly mistakes have cost us, and it will become mental if we don't start winning soon.

Exactly, the good teams make their spells of dominance count which we need to start doing pronto. Still think Richarlison through the middle could be the key.
