I went to a NYE party on Phangnan in 2015 and it was nuts, heard the next day that loads of people had been spiked.

The big parties are ok but I can't really be arsed with them, you might as well be at any festival or club. And i wouldn't trust anyone selling and flip dancing til 6 in the morning on ale.

I go watching the footy and live bands and then go the bars to play pool etc

Good news - Bailed again til 9th January.

Bad news - Sat in middle of tropical storm

It's emergency stations here on Samui as you've probably read on the news.

Anyone have any cyclone experience? Should I tape up my windows? I've tried sawdust and putting the patio doors in rice but perhaps I can do more.

Storm hasn't properly hit yet but it's wild already. I'll stick one of the mattresses against the windows if it gets worse I think.

18 hours in to my first lads holiday in Majorca - magaluf, I was in court in the same clothes I went in with bite marks all over me , weird lot them gardia civil.

Haha amazing. I was in ripped elephant pants. To be the worst dressed man in a thai jail is some achievement.

Thankfully the only bites I had were from mosquitos, the police and padmates were remarkably restrained.
