I have been trying to make clear in a few of my comments that no one cohort should be less talented than another because of their gender, elected gender or race. 30 years of teaching and my upbringing before that have shown me that while people might not be equal in their capabilities, that its nothing to do with skin colour, gender or any other such thing. Its down to how stupid they are or aren't in a particular area. You seem to be suggesting throughout this thread that women and BAME people aren't getting roles through their talent, more to do with hitting a quota.
Maybe that is the case, but do you not think these people can just be extremely good at their jobs and the fact more opportunities are opening up for them to show their talent is a good thing?
Two of the best actors this country has produced in the last decade are Dev Patel and Riz Ahmed. Is it not a good thing that these lads now have the platform to tell their stories and showcase their talent?
Giving opportunities is an excellent thing ... all I'm saying is that those opportunities shouldn't just be arbitrarily filled by somebody without talent because theyre their and they git a tick box.
I mean - should all football clubs be compelled to field one Inuit per team so that a minority, from a people not necessarily bothered about football, could be represented?
