Anyone going to Sydney??

Harsh coming from Manilla. Still in in 1973 there and still calling me everyday with some scam or another.

BGC + Rockwell in Manila are two places far superior than anything Sydney has to offer. Thats before the service quality and general friendliness.

Also, no...i dont 'come' from Manila.

Ive also personally encountered more financial scammers specifically in Sydney than anywhere else on the planet.

No just Sydney is overrated.

Havent been to Brisbane.

Perth and Sydney only...both massively overrated places where life goes to die.

Doubt it. Every Australian city ranks pretty much in the top 20 of best cities. Manilla down the bottom of any list in any index.

I love Brisbane fyi. Lived up on the Goldie for a while and if you’ve never driven up the Pac Hwy in between you’ve not lived and survived to tell the tale. There’s always something amazing going on on that road.

I don't mind Perth. Melbourne is good to visit and do stuff in but crap to live in. Adelaide is just boring.
Sydney is really nice around the harbour and northern beaches. Western Sydney is a hole.

Best part of it was a Fish&Chip shop on Darling Harbour which closed down 15 years ago. Pre-covid the 'treat' was sitting in a bar at the rocks gazing at the water and opera house and dreaming of being somewhere else.

Been many times...from the shocking airport queues all the way through to the poor levels of service.

FYI I named two areas in Manila that are far superior to anything in Sydney. BGC and Rockwell. They arent 'cities' in their own right as theyre parts of Manila -- Rockwell in Makati and BGC aka Fort Bonifacio.

If you had visited, you would have known that.

You named "bankstown", would you judge Sydney on that one area or on the best couple of areas?

Fortitude Valley (aka The Valley) is the Brisbane night club district.

The major problems I had with Perth were:

1: The road right next to the ocean...its just bizarre.

2: The main high street looks like something from 30years ago. Rough.

I did like the restaurant on the hill there where you have nice views.

Many in the CBD...some out in the likes of crows nest and even on a ferry boat across the water somewhere.

Id say every city in Japan, Singapore, KL, Bangkok and several other Asian cities are different levels above Sydney.

Same for me, only ever fly in for the yacht show.

Stayed near Darling (The Star Casino Hotel)

Been to all the others on the list and for me KL comes out bottom (but still ok) , Singapore top. Sydney? Absolutely fine.
