The last player I recall us loaning into the youth team was Eric Dier.

So I look forward to him never playing for us but being ace for Spurs in 3 years.

I'm made up that the under 23's is being treated with so much respect, like a proper team and a top class development tool.

Seems every one at the club is onto it and supporting unsworth properly.

If we get hirst in and the lad from city its a big statement youth wise.

Plus we know if they have the talent, unsworth and staff will more than likely get them ready for first team, he takes so much pride in his role.

Unsworth is genuinely a huge asset to the club in the way he's developing the young lads.

I thought his comments about how he's being backed by the club to get players in for the u23s were interesting, especially as he said that he wants to bring in players who he can fast track into the first team.

The structure that's being put in place is brilliant. Donkor will be just another example or this I'm sure.
