Again, picking random examples of similarly bad decisions doesn't really change anything. It was a very silly and very dangerous tackle. He got away with it, great, but your defence of literally everything he does is honestly quite strange.

I'm not sure I'm defending him mate, we agree that it was hot headed and silly. I just dont think it was a red, given what we have seen this season in our games.

Refs are letting more go though. These are not random examples, one of them happened 2 games ago! It was also reviewed my multiple camera angles and decided it wasnt a red card.

All I've ever asked for is consistency, and if 3 officials live, and a 4th watching it with multiple camera angles felt the Mitrovic tackle wasnt a red, then a less serious challenge should also not be a red.

None of that is a defence of Gordon. It's still an unnecessary challenge.

And Joe Parkinson regularly put tackles in like that. He was a wonderful midfielder, and there was more leniency then.

Apart from a bit growl and physicality not seeing the gifted footballer he was supposed to be. Would imagine he was expected to star last hence the start, very disappointing performance against world beaters Bournemouth B side.

That challenge was ten a penny a few years ago. Joe Parkinson did 4 or 5 of them a game. People dont half go over the top. It was a firm tackle.

As indicated, if Mitrovic and VVD arent reds, that is not a red. It would have been nice to see if someone else might have put a tackle in last night. Give me a committed player, over one who shirks tackles any day.

It was a stupid clumsy tackle and could of easily seen red and been out for 3 games he’s already served a ban for accumulating yellow cards I liked him last year because of his attitude and looked to have potential showed neither this season and stunk the place out on more than one occasion

I say idiot. He looks like an idiot because of the arguments he puts forth. My gut feeling is that the reasons he uses by way of his defence are more sinister than stupid.

It does nothing to my cause. But that idiot was in charge of refs. And 1 ref already judged them a yellow card. 2 assistant refs. Then another ref in a VAR room, getting multiple angles, including slow motion to see it. They all had the same opinion.

Its clearly not a random mistake. They want to let more tackles go. And that's fine, but it has to be consistently applied.

As you said, why are some posters geeky so angry about a young footballer currently not playing well who plays for the club they claim to support? Really weird behaviour.

The thing is, his goals ratio and other aspects have improved this season. The issue is they haven't raised at the same speed that people's expectations have raised. So people just get really angry.

I know his goals ratio has improved but I think that’s slightly misleading. His all around play has been nothing short of appalling and he doesn’t track back often enough either so he is costing us more than he’s contributing for my money

His attitude absolutely reeks. Should've been sent off and has almost looked like he's trying to get sent off at times this season.

Starboy has gone to his head, loves himself too much and thinks he's way better than he is.

Wouldn't start for any other PL team.

Thanks mate.

In fairness, I have one viewpoint, some people have another viewpoint and we exchange views. It makes the forum interesting, and I enjoy seeing views different to my own.

I appreciate I can also be a bit beligerrent, so hopefully people who I disagree with don't take it too personally, and in the spirit it's intended.

In the end, we are all Evertonians, and that's the most important thing. Give me an Evertonian who criticises Gordon (or anyone else) over any fan of any other club.
