Saw him in the bar area for the United semi - everyone singing "Oh Andy Is Our King". The noise was phenomenal. Great player for us. Happy Birthday Andy.

The cockney scouser. Always played flat out, and had a fair amount of skill too. Felt sorry him that he missed the 84 finals (although I seem to recall he came on as a late sub in the LC replay at Maine Rd).

Great player/guy met him a few times, liked a bevy.Scored some very important goals for us. For the younger blues, think Tim Cahill (not as good in the air though) and you wont be far off?

Older Blues Andy or Tim, who do you reckon?

Andy King when playing for Luton town mostly scored against us glad we signed him Gordon Lee made a forward out of him a great finisher and a true blue - a fair comparison with Cahill as Andy was capable in most positions in midfield or upfront not the great header of a ball, but had a thunderous shot - a true blue Happy Birthday Andy!

...Cahill without question. I understand the comparison but no doubt in my mind that Tim was on a different planet.

Man love him :)

That's a very good question, if I really had to pick one ....Andy King only because things are better when you're younger.

Brilliant question! Very hard to call for me. Loved King and nearly cried to see him miss out on cup finals when he had been such a great blue. His derby goal was an iconic one for lads of my generation. But think I will just give the edge to Cahill. No actually it is dead heat from me. Loved them both and the comparison is spot on.

Andy is a huge hero of mine - just a scouser with a funny accent as he said ( or something like that )
He had a heart scare a few years ago and, to his credit, Kenwrong was one of the first people to ring him in hospital.

Kingy for me ,looking back that team of the 70s was a lot better than many of us realised at the time.No disrespect to Cahill though its just that football has changed and not for the better.
