Is it?

I think most of us said at the time that he'd never be the same player following that

I could list countless players that suffered horrific injuries and it had a long term effect on them for the rest of their careers
It is, because it completely ignores the fact that his recent performances are absolutely no different to the performances he was putting in before the injury. This has been said a thousand times.

I thought he was pretty decent during his loan spell, was more inconsistent before the injury after joining permanently and then has worsened since the injury.I should of clarified what I originally said.

He definitely got worse after the injury

People are exaggerating how bad he was prior to it

I don't hate on him i just want him gone from the club.

His performance away at Southampton will live long in the memory, i couldn't believe what i was watching.

Without any exaggeration I will tell you that his performance away at Villa before he got injured was worse than ANYTHING he has served up since, and probably in the top 5 worst individual performances i've ever seen from an Everton player. And I saw each and every one of Cuco Martina's games for us.

In a midfield that is set up in a particular way he could be very good.
We simply don't have the players or the resources to build a team that can have him in it.
Not a bad player but Everton at the moment is not a good fit for him.

I remember that, was shocking to be fair. Did you ever experience the haunting substitute appearance of Peter Degn ? Ali Dia was envious.

Unfortunately he's just a bit off the pace in most departments; he's quite ponderous in possession, prone to giving the ball away in the centre of midfield (and setting teams up on the counter-attack), isn't an effective tackler, rarely makes any decisive through balls, rarely takes on a shot and has no great pace in support of our attacks. He effectively, sits on the left side of midfield making five yard passes, does the occasional pirouette and slows the game down.

I've no reason to believe that this changes next season and so I'd let him go and bring in someone who has some potential else one top rate characteristic that's useful; pace, power, passing, tackling or even a dead ball specialist.

Was that early on the season when we could of gone top if we won? We got beat 2-0 and villa scored in the last minute?

He was very good in the Origi game at Anfield. He was never quick, and was always seemingly mentally weak, but there was a player in there that could succeed at times.

But alas, post injury, he just doesn't have what's required in the Premier League.

He'd be great in Italy or France. Completely worthless to us now
