Hi everyone,
It's taken me a while to actually join despite having enjoyed reading the threads for a long time. Being on a brief sabbatical from work has finally allowed me to learn how to actually play the game of golf, (well at least improve on my previous agricultural hacking around the course with a few tinnies), take up Thai kick boxing, (just for fun) and most importantly join and begin to contribute to the best Evertonian Forum around.
Some facts to show respect for and follow the guidelines provided for newbies:-
1. I am currently in the Philippines having previously lived and worked in Japan, S. Korea and India. Have been in Asia for 16 years - originally from Plymouth in the UK
2. My awaking came at the age of 7 when Everton were 2-0 down to Sheff Wed in the 1996 FA Cup Final. I thought they had played well and did not deserve to be behind. So from that moment I was hooked and even more so when they went on to win 3-2 after extra time. Took me another one year to realise Everton was situated in the City of Liverpool even though my Mother was a born and bred Liverpudlian. Shocked to find all her side of family the were Reds except one Uncle who, bless him, kept me supplied with the old Evertonian newspaper for several years.
3. Sir Alan Ball, (well he should have been knighted), was my favourite all time player ever and an idol for most of my youth - I was the only kid in my School who wore and cherished the special Alan Ball white boots, that I forced my Mother to buy me, even though they bagan to crack and fall to bits after only a handful of games.
4. Difficult to choose a favourite player today - no one can ever replace Bally - especially as I don't get the chance to see the Blues plat at the Old Lady very often - last visit was last season to see 3-1 win over Wigan - but if pushed has to be Bainsey.
5. Pineapple on Pizza - definitely a No No for me. Just stick to meat and cheese. Why spoil it with fruit or veg etc.!!
Everton for life - for nothing and no one else matters.
