American Food

I don't personally enjoy the combination of brioche with meat. Burgers, sandwiches, doesn't matter.

Brioche is delicious, don't get me wrong. I've certainly had my fair share - I just think it detracts from savoury dishes.

Sweet and savoury is all the fashion these days. I’m not so sure.

Had a slice of Smith Island cake today.
So good
did a field trip in RN school to smith island. The K-8 school has 6 students, the crabbers came in from day a crabbing and caught literally only 1 bushel, the whole island is getting swallowed up by rising waters, but the cake is really good and the boat ride was fun.

Usually you get decent sea food near the coast. I can't speak for the food in Florida but I generally think we have the best food in Louisiana, and so am interested in the imitators. Enjoy your stay and I hope all the rest of your food is great (or at least not memorable for the bad reasons).

Florida seafood is excellent. Lots of places along the west coast make a good grouper sandwich and I always try to get one when I visit home. But I've never been onside with grits. Just don't like them. Would rather have hash browns.

I liked the beer cheese dawg from that place with the plazzy burner phones you use to order stuff. Chicago.

Also, can't beat a bit of Louisiana gumbo with a side of charbroiled oysters. I've had them raw too - no I didn't get a chub on. It's a myth.
