As all of British football can see, David Moyes’ time at Everton may come to an end at the conclusion of the 2012/2013 season. He has recently came out and stated that he will not be signing his contract until the end of the season, as he is considering his future. Many believe these comments have taken a negative affect on recent team performances from Everton, and have left the team unsettled. Moyes has brushed off these excuses, branding them “rubbish”.

The scot is currently in his 11th year at the club, and has many times been praised for his work at Everton due to the league finishes and overall consistency he has brought to Everton. But many journalists and football pundits forget, that Everton Football Club had been around 124 years before Moyes came a long.
Our club has a rich history and our fans our proud of it, and rightly so. Moyes has done very well at Everton on a shoe string budget, and done well when having to sell players and bring in replacements for less of a price. Bargains such as Tim Cahill, Mikel Arteta and Steven Pienaar spring to mind.

But all good things must come to an end, and the end may well be extremely close and the relationship between Moyes and the Everton faithful may well be no more come May.
But our club will move on, we are in a good position squad wise at this moment in time and until recently, have been doing excellent in the league.
Names such as Martinez, Bilic and Laudrup have been mentioned in Moyes’ possible replacements, all you could say would be good managers to have at the club.
But whatever happens happens, and us Evertonians must not loose faith or passion with our beloved club, we have came through much worse times than now, and we will continue to move forward and improve.

Agreed, sack Moyes straight after the Oldham game and give a new manager a crack at the FA cup.

Even I can't seriously suggest that Moyes deserves the sack. As a club we should be classier than that and it'd do us more harm than good in the long run. We have a great chance of attracting a decent manager because of the way we do things; pointless to destroy that rep now.

Although immediately after the Norwich game I would have paid for Moyes to leave the country and never return!

You are right the time has come for a change.
We have a good but thin squad but its losing its way with tiredness and the fallout from moyess contract .
We need a new man at the helm to install some desire and hunger because the players are treading water at the moment.
If they have anything about them they will push on this season because we have a great chance of lifting the cup.

But that will be writing off the FA cup

People are closer to the club than me, but some are just making it up like I do.

Question.

Could Moyes be really kicking the living daylights out of the Board to back him? One of the issues people have had with him previously is that he hasn't been strong enough with the Board.

I think we will struggle like hell if Moyes goes. Just my uneducated view ?

Some people are getting infracted in here.

On topic.

Sacking Moyes now would be badly pointless. We'd have to pay a bit of compensation to him for a start.

Good post. Personally, I don't think we'll appreciate how good a job Moyes has done until he's gone. The new manager, whoever he is, will have the same owners, the same lack of funds and the same expectations from the fans. We are currently in the position that our squad merits and are only there because of the job Moyes has done.
Finding someone who can do a 'better' job under these restraints won't be easy as virtually every other club, apart from the mega-rich, are looking for the same person and the majority of choices are found wanting..just look at Villa, the RS, Sunderland, Newcastle et al.
Moyes is far from perfect, Everton's achievements lately are far from perfect...but they could be far, far worse

Hmmm... good point actually. I don't really care about the FA Cup so that's not in my mindset.

For those who do I guess it's a choice between keeping a manager who almost definitely won't win the FA Cup or gambling on getting one who at least has an outside chance.

On balance, for me, sacking him would be a bad call this late in the day.

Problem is, why didn't he do that in the middle of his contract, when the fans were protesting etc?
