Don't know why you(forum doomsayers) are surprised, he started for arsenal every week who were good going forward, just crap defensively.

If people didn't judge as either great or crap, maybe you'd appreciate players a bit more.
Spot on mate.

Iwobi was a regular at Arsenal which means he is nigh on certain to look one of the better players at our club.

He has pace, energy and better game understanding than alot of our players. Who would have thought it!

The downside is that for Arsenal to sell they didnt think he would be a good enough player for them if they wanted to challenge for the title going forward. That suggests there are elements to his game/mentality that will see him play regularly for a top 5-8th club but not further.

Like Salah, De Bruyne etc...

It's not quite the same as those two really is it? For a kick off, De Bruyne made 2 starts for Chelsea in half a season (3 apps in total). Salah made 6 (13 in total).

Iwobi made 70 starts for Arsenal across 4 years (100 apps in total). 25+ appearances in each of the last three PL campaigns. He has had numerous opportunities to impress under two different managers. Doesn't mean to say he isn't capable of improving his game to perform consistently at that level, but Arsenal certainly had a much longer look at him than Chelsea did at either Salah or KDB. The scenario's aren't really comparable.

I agree however tbf Iwobi is only 23 and can develop.

I was just mentioning Salah in my response to the obvious RS!

Maybe that's a good thing in a way, sometimes we are too reliant on Digne, having Iwobi who has a different skill set from Bernard offers tactical flexibility.
I get you, it just seems that if anything digne is underused with iwobi on the pitch,
Once we find a nice balance, and our forwards get on the same wavelength think we'll score goals for fun

Or they're cutting back on spending to allow for Pepe?
The Armenian lad would probably have been the better sale but their only offer was a loan,
Ozil is still taking home 350k a week too
Now he might become a worldy but currently whose doing better, iwobi or Pepe?

Arsenal apparently didn't particularly want to sell but we offered too much to turn down. Obviously if he was the next Messi they'd still have told us to do one, but still.

That's #BinaryBritain for you. I explored the phenomenon in my most recent thesis actually. What has caused the majority of people to be unable to accept that a 'thing' can be more than THE BEST THING EVER or WORST THING IN HISTORY?

We concluded it's probably too much TOWIE and maybe microplastics or whatever.
